My Birthday
Guess what? Today is my birthday. To celebrate it, my mother took me to a restaurant and the movies. For dinner, I had my favorite food, lasagna and waffles with ice cream. After dinner we went to see a movie. A friend had given us tickets for the movie – “Valiant,” an animation.
I think it was a bit childish for my age. However, it is a good animation. In the movie, “Squad F” bravely tried to save the world. It’s not the size of the wingspan that counts; it’s the size of their spirits.

Thank you dear teacher, for helping me correct my English diaries every day. What I look forward to most is getting my assignment notebook back, so I can see the mistakes you’ve corrected. Imagination of Future School
I wish there weren’t any schools in the future. There wouldn’t be any teachers, cram schools, tutoring or tests. Instead, all you would have to do is insert a chip into the back of your brain. The chip will teach you everything you need to know. For example, if you want to learn how to play the piano, all you have to do is insert a chip and you could play all the works of Beethoven. Just think about it! How wonderful the world would be for all the students.

My Opinion on Movies
I love movies. Some people like to see thrillers, science fiction, or action movies, but I prefer romance, fantasy, and comedy films. A number of people think going to a movie theater is a waste of time and money. However, I strongly disagree. I think going to a movie theater is a pleasure because the quality and sound effects are better than watching a movie at home. It is also great to laugh or scream with the crowd in the theater. For me, seeing a movie is a great way to spend time with my friends or family.

The Best Must Read Books
There was an article in the evening newspaper. It was about the “Top 30 Must Read Books.” Guess which one was number one? It was “The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.” This book is one of the seven books from The Chronicles of Narnia. I have read all these books and I agree with the reviews. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe is the best one in the series. I think this book is really magical. It’s full of fantasy and it is fun and exciting, which makes the readers want to keep reading it.

The Field TripToday, we went on a field trip. All the seventh graders voted and decided to go to Leo-Foo Village Theme Park. Even though I am a scaredy cat and don’t dare to ride any of the exciting rides, I still think it was a good choice. Since all the people played by the rules, no one cut in line, became rowdy, or littered. It is a good place to learn good manners and socialize.

戶外教學
今天是戶外教學日，全七年級的同學投票決定要去六福村主題樂園，雖然我是個膽小鬼，不敢玩任何刺激的遊樂設施，但是我還是認為這是一個好選擇，因為所有的同學都很守規矩，沒有人插隊，也沒有吵鬧或亂丟垃圾。這是一個學習禮儀及交際的好地方。

Expectation of the Midterm Test
Today was the most flustering day of my life. Do you know why? It is because the teacher handed out our test answer sheets. After I found out my Chinese, Math, English, and Biology grades, I was very satisfied. However, the result of one subject, Social Studies, is still unknown. I have a feeling that I didn’t do too badly and I am looking forward to getting my social studies answer sheet back.

Shopping on the Weekend
On Friday, when I just finished my tests, I went straight to Gong-Guan with my friends to take sticker pictures. On Saturday, I went to Xi-Men-Ding with my mother to buy a pair of uniform pants and to see the movie, “Just Like Heaven.” Tonight, I also went to see a dance performance. All in all, it was a fantastic holiday.

Time flies in the wink of an eye, in a few more days I will have my midterm test. Since I didn’t do as well as expected on my first test, I learned my lesson and I am working harder than before. Therefore, after working hard for more than one month, I hope I will improve.

Chinese Folk Dance
Tonight, I went to see a Chinese Folk dance performance. The theme involved the immigration of the Hakka to Taiwan, a wild and isolated island, also known as Formosa. They experienced floods and disasters, overcame many hardships, and also harvested many years of hard work. I enjoyed this performance very much, since I am learning Chinese Folk dance myself. I think watching this performance was a really good chance for me to improve my dancing skills. My dancing teacher encourages me to see as many performances as possible. Therefore, when the people were dancing on stage, I paid attention to every movement.

中國民族舞蹈
今天晚上我去看了一場中國民俗舞蹈表演，內容是關於早期客家子弟移民到台灣的故事。他們如何在荒蕪的孤島上，經歷了洪水等天災，最後克服萬難，多年來的努力，總算有了收成。我非常喜歡這個表演，因為我自己也在學習中國民俗舞蹈，我認為這是改進我的舞技的好機會，而且我的舞蹈老師也鼔勵我，儘可能地多觀賞這一類的表演，所以我非常專注台上舞者的肢體動作。
