Dentist Checkup
Last summer, I got braces and tonight I had to get a checkup at the dentist. This isn’t the first time though, since I have to get a checkup every three weeks. Normally, Dr. Guo just changes the rubber bands around the transparent brackets. As usual, he just did that. However, when I arrived home, my teeth were aching very badly. It seemed that Dr. Guo used a stronger kind of rubber band than before. I thought “why do I have to check my teeth before my midterm?” Nevertheless, all I could do was hope that my teeth would not affect my spirit and make me all grumpy, which is definitely not good for my preparation for the upcoming tests.

暑假時，我裝了牙套，今天晚上，我去牙醫那兒做例行性檢查，這並不是第一次了，因為我必須每三個禮拜檢查一次，通常郭醫師是把透明方形牙套固定器周圍的橡皮筋換新，今天也跟往常一樣，但是當我一回到家，我的牙齒却痛的很厲害，好像郭醫師用了更強的橡皮筋綁著牙套似的，我心想「我為什麼要在段考前去檢查牙齒呢?」然而我現在所能做的就只有祈禱，希望我的牙痛不會影響到我的精神，使我的心情低落，這樣對我準備即將來臨的段考，是沒有一點幫助的。

A Story Book in Mind
When I was very young, I read a really stimulating book. The title of the book is called “The Trumpet of the Swan”. Although it has been a long time since I first read it, I decided to take it off of the bookshelf, blow off the dust from its cover, and read it again. This book states how difficult it is for a cygnet named “Louis” to live without a voice. However, he never gave up. Instead, he faced his problems bravely. I think the theme and idea of the book is relevant to our daily lives. Therefore, we should follow in Louis' steps and overcome our obstacles.

當我年紀很小時，我讀了一本能激勵人心的書，書名是「天鵝的喇叭」。雖然那是很久以前讀的，但是我還是決定把它從書架上拿下來，吹掉上面沉積已久的灰塵，再看一次。這本書陳述一隻名叫路易士的聾啞小天鵝，如何勇敢面對人生的困境，永不氣餒。我認為這本書的主題與劇情，與我們生活週遭息息相關，所以我們應該追隨路易士的腳步，排除萬難，向光明的前程邁進。

哈利波特電影

The Harry Potter Movie
Last Sunday, I went to Warner Village to see the movie “ Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire”. I think it is a very good piece of work, better than the third movie, because the third movie wasn’t in order and it skipped many parts (compared to the book).
Even though the movie is not as exciting as the book, I still like it very much. In my opinion, Harry is brave, Ron is a loyal friend, and Hermione is very smart and a good friend as well.

上星期天我去華納威秀看哈利波特電影—火盃的考驗，我認為這是一部很好的電影作品，比第三集好看，因為第三集的電影沒有按照書中順序拍，而且省略了許多部份。
雖然這部電影並沒有書中精彩，但是我還是非常喜歡它。我覺得哈利非常勇敢，榮恩是一位忠心的朋友，而且妙麗非常聰明，也是哈利的益友。
